Nice Things began in 2010 and in 2017 moved from its first tiny shop to a bigger space in Ramsgate town centre. it gave us the chance to make a third of the area into a gallery, whilst still having plenty of space for a wide selection of unique handmade goods. As a small independent shop, working directly with makers and artists, we're passionate about the importance of supporting craftspeople. We're actively supporting 'Just A Card', the national campaign at www.justacard.org.
Ramsgate is a quirky town, full of hidden treasures. It's not pretentious, it's an honest ordinary working place with friendly people. The town is developing lots of independent shops and galleries, whilst retaining its town centre with two bakers, two greengrocers and two butchers, as well as a weekly market. Tucked away we also have good cafes and restaurants The Ramsgate Society is a good place to find out about the history, the Pugin Society to learn about one of our most influential past residents and Michael's Bookshop for loads of information.
